What's the difference between wired and wireless uplights?

Wired uplights plug into a standard wall outlet and are the most affordable option — great for ballrooms and indoor venues where outlets are accessible along the walls. Wireless uplights run on a built-in rechargeable battery, so they go anywhere without cords. Same color quality, same light output, just no outlet needed. If your venue has easy wall outlet access, wired works great. If you're in a tent, barn, or anywhere outlets are scarce, wireless is the way to go.

How long do the batteries last on wireless lights?

It depends on the unit and the color you're running. Battery life varies because some colors draw more power than others — white uses a single LED channel, while red, green, and blue use multiple channels simultaneously, which drains the battery faster. Our Ultra Wireless units have a 50% larger battery than our standard wireless lights, making them the better choice for longer events. We publish specific battery life estimates on each product page so you can match the right unit to your event length before you book.

Can I rent with only a few days notice?

Possibly — we handle last-minute requests manually to make sure we can actually meet your date and quantity before confirming. We approve over 95% of requests that come in with less than 10 days notice, usually within 12 hours. Submit a request and we'll get back to you quickly. Standard bookings need at least 10 days lead time to guarantee delivery.

How do I set the color on the lights?

Each uplight has a simple on-board control panel with a digital display. You enter a color code using the buttons on the unit, and it locks in immediately — no app, no remote required (though some wireless models do include a remote). Most people have all their lights set and placed in under 30 minutes.

What happens if something arrives broken or doesn't work?

Contact us right away and we'll figure it out. Every light is tested before it ships, and we keep extra stock on hand specifically for situations like this. If something arrives damaged or dead, we'll get a replacement to you — including overnighting one if your event is close. We'd rather fix the problem than have you setting up with a light that doesn't work.

Do I need any special tools or skills to set up?

None at all. Wired lights plug into an outlet, wireless lights turn on with a button, and color is set with a simple code on the unit's display. The lights come with ball bungee cords to hang them — no drilling, no mounting hardware, no electrician. If you can hang a picture frame, you can set these up. Most full orders are done in under 30 minutes.

How do I know how many lights I need?

A general starting point for uplighting: divide your wall perimeter by your desired spacing. Lights spaced 6–8 feet apart give a bright, full wash. Spaced 10–14 feet apart gives balanced coverage with a bit more breathing room between lights. Most events use between 10 and 30 uplights depending on venue size. What's actually included in the box when it arrives?
